Palm Desert Ranked Second Most Welcoming City in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure

According to a new report from Travel + Leisure, the city ranks as the second most welcoming destination in the United States. The rankings are based on traveler reviews collected through Booking.com.

Fredericksburg, Texas claimed the top spot, followed by Palm Desert. Rounding out the top five are Cape May, New Jersey; Broken Bow, Oklahoma; and Waikoloa, Hawaii.

City officials say the honor reflects Palm Desert’s signature skies and friendly hospitality. In a Facebook post, the city said they'll offer residents a “silver sunburst” instead of a gold star, a nod to the iconic statue at the center of San Pablo Ave.
