Andrew Firestine Begins First Day as Cathedral City Manager
It’s the first day for Cathedral City’s new city manager, Andrew Firestine.
Firestine was appointed and sworn in during last night’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting. He steps into the role previously held by Charlie McClendon, who retired in September. Since then, Anne Ambrose has been serving as interim city manager.
Firestine previously served as Cathedral City’s director of community and economic development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Diego and a master’s degree in city and regional planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
City leaders say they look forward to Firestine’s leadership as he begins his new role overseeing day-to-day operations and long-term planning for the city.
