Big Bear Embraces Olympic Spirit with Family Watch Parties

Olympic excitement is in full swing in Big Bear, where families are gathering for Winter Games watch parties and mountain fun.

At the Big Bear Visitor Center and throughout the Moonridge Corridor, visitors are catching live Olympic events while enjoying everything the mountain town has to offer — from snow tubing and mini golf to the popular Alpine Slide and mountain coaster rides.

Families visiting for the holiday weekend say it’s the perfect mix of cozy cabin bonding and outdoor adventure. Many say tubing and the Alpine Slide top their list of favorite activities, especially for those who don’t often get to experience snow.

Local professional cyclist Sienna also shared her excitement about the Games, noting that cross-country skiing closely mirrors her sport of cross-country mountain biking, requiring endurance, uphill climbs, and full-body strength.

With the Winter Olympics continuing and Los Angeles set to host the Summer Games in two years, Big Bear’s watch parties are giving families a chance to feel connected to the global celebration of sport — all while enjoying a snowy getaway close to home.
