Modernism Week Kicks Off with Rededication Honoring Nelda Linsk

Modernism Week officially kicks off today, drawing thousands of architecture and design enthusiasts to Palm Springs for a celebration of midcentury modern style.

The popular festival features home and neighborhood tours, art exhibitions, film premieres, and engaging talks and presentations throughout the week.

To open the festivities, organizers honored longtime Palm Springs resident Nelda Linsk by rededicating her star on the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars. On the anniversary of her original 2018 dedication, Linsk was officially given the title “First Lady of Modernism Week.”

A resident of Palm Springs since 1962, Linsk has been a major influence on the city’s culture, architecture, fashion, art, and design. During the ceremony, she expressed gratitude for the recognition, sharing how meaningful it is to meet admirers from around the world.
