TODEC Legal Center Hosting Valentine’s Donation Drive for Immigrant Families
This Valentine’s Day, TODEC Legal Center is encouraging the community to show love in a meaningful way — by supporting immigrant families in need.
The organization says many families across the Coachella Valley are facing growing challenges, from food insecurity to fear stemming from immigration enforcement and family separations. Since the start of the year, TODEC reports assisting more than 3,000 families each month with legal guidance, food distribution, and basic necessities.
To help meet the demand, TODEC will host a donation drive tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at all three of its locations, including its office on 6th Street in Coachella. Community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, hygiene products, clothing, and other essential supplies.
Several local businesses are also serving as collection sites, including Desert Bloom Coffee Shop, Bobo’s Palm Springs, and Rutina Coffee — a Latino-owned coffee shop helping expand outreach efforts.
Organizers say the timing ahead of Valentine’s Day is intentional, hoping the community will come together to remind immigrant families that they are supported and not alone during difficult times.
