Dubai port giant DP World replaces longtime chief after DOJ Epstein files reveal explicit emails
One of the world’s largest port operators has announced new leadership after newly released US Justice Department records revealed years of private emails involving the late Jeffrey Epstein and a prominent Dubai business figure.
DP World confirmed it has appointed a new chairman and group CEO, replacing the longtime leader who helped expand the company’s global footprint across dozens of countries. Dubai’s Government Media Office announced the appointments without naming the outgoing executive, but the change comes after documents released by the Justice Department highlighted communications that included sexually explicit content and other controversial references.
The files, part of a broader release connected to the Epstein case, describe a long-running relationship between Epstein and the Dubai executive. Being named in the documents is not, by itself, evidence of wrongdoing, and the executive has not been accused or charged by authorities in connection with Epstein.
The disclosures have intensified scrutiny in Washington and among business partners, with reports that some organizations paused or reconsidered deals connected to the company. The documents also include references to business discussions and introductions involving international political and business figures, underscoring how Epstein cultivated relationships with influential people around the world.
DP World has not released additional details about the leadership transition timeline or whether further internal reviews are planned.
