Firebirds Host Tucson Roadrunners on “Kraken Night” at Acrisure Arena

The Coachella Valley Firebirds are back on home ice tonight as they take on the Tucson Roadrunners at Acrisure Arena.

The matchup comes just days after the excitement of the American Hockey League All-Star Classic. The Firebirds enter the second half of the season tied for fourth place in the Pacific Division, just two points out of third, with 40 games remaining. Every point will be critical in what has been a tightly contested division race.

Tonight is also “Kraken Night,” presented by Alaska Airlines, with the Firebirds tipping their caps to their NHL parent club, the Seattle Kraken. Players and broadcast staff will sport specialty jerseys featuring the Kraken’s seafoam green and red accents.

The Firebirds and Roadrunners have met twice this season, splitting a back-to-back series in Tucson in November.

Fans will also hear from Firebirds forward Jagger Firkus, who impressed at the AHL All-Star festivities, winning the accuracy shooting competition and scoring three goals in the All-Star Game. Teammate Tyson Jugnauth also represented the team at the event in Rockford, Illinois.

Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. as the Firebirds begin their push toward the postseason on home ice.
