Suspect Arrested After Double Homicide in Thermal

A suspect is now in custody following a double homicide in Thermal.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office Central Homicide Unit, 43-year-old Alberto Tomas Padron of Mecca has been identified as the suspect.

Deputies responded just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home on Polk Street in Thermal, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Padron was arrested Thursday night in Mecca with assistance from other agencies. He was booked on two counts of murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
