TODEC Hosting Valentine’s Eve Donation Drive for Immigrant Families
TODEC Legal Center is hosting a Valentine’s Eve donation drive today in support of immigrant families across the Coachella Valley.
The drop-off event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at TODEC’s office on 6th Street in Coachella, right in front of City Hall. Organizers are asking the community to donate nonperishable food items such as rice, beans, cereal, and canned goods, along with hygiene products like toothpaste and toiletries, as well as clothing and other essentials.
TODEC leaders say the need has grown significantly this year, with more than 3,000 families each month seeking assistance due to family separations, immigration enforcement concerns, and fear of going to work. The nonprofit provides legal guidance, food support, and other basic resources.
The timing of the drive on the eve of Valentine’s Day is intentional, with organizers hoping to show families they are supported and not alone during difficult times.
Additional drop-off locations include Rutina Coffee until 2 p.m., and Desert Bloom Coffee Shop.
Organizers encourage anyone able to donate to stop by and help make a difference.
