Hollywood Legend Robert Duvall Dies at 95

Veteran actor Robert Duvall, whose extraordinary screen career spanned more than six decades, has died at the age of 95, his family announced Monday.

Duvall died peacefully on Sunday at his home in Middleburg, Virginia, with his wife, Luciana, by his side, according to a statement released by his representatives.

He was renowned for a remarkable body of work that included legendary performances as Tom Hagen in "The Godfather" series and the unforgettable Lieutenant Colonel Kilgore in "Apocalypse Now", as well as his early breakthrough as Boo Radley in "To Kill a Mockingbird".

Duvall earned seven Academy Award nominations and won the Oscar for Best Actor in 1984 for his role in Tender Mercies. His career also included acclaimed turns in MASH*, The Apostle, Network and The Judge, among many others.

In a statement, his wife encouraged friends and fans to honor his memory in ways that reflect how he lived — by enjoying a great film, sharing a good story with loved ones, or appreciating the beauty of the world around them.

Duvall is remembered as one of cinema’s most versatile and respected actors, whose performances helped shape American film storytelling for generations.
