Modernism Week tours highlight historic Ocotillo Lodge as preservation efforts continue in Palm Springs
Modernism Week continues across the Coachella Valley, offering visitors a chance to explore the region’s world-famous architecture and design — including a special stop at the historic Ocotillo Lodge.
On Monday, guests gathered inside the Candlewood Room for a presentation and guided tour highlighting the lodge’s rich history. The program explored the property’s past, including rumored celebrity visitors and the ongoing work to preserve one of Palm Springs’ iconic midcentury modern landmarks.
Event organizers say the lodge has a unique atmosphere that continues to draw both residents and visitors. Attendees described the property as having a welcoming, easygoing energy — a place where community gatherings and casual cocktail hours help keep its social spirit alive.
Proceeds from the event support continued restoration efforts, helping maintain the architectural and cultural significance of the property for future generations.
Modernism Week features tours, talks, and special events throughout Palm Springs and surrounding cities, giving architecture enthusiasts rare access to historic homes and buildings that helped define the region’s distinctive style.
The annual celebration runs through Sunday, February 22. A full schedule of tours and activities is available at modernismweek.com.
