Audible Rolls Out New Feature Letting Readers Follow Along with Audiobooks

Book lovers got a new way to experience their favorite stories Wednesday when Audible announced the rollout of immersion reading in its app.

Customers who own both the audiobook and Kindle e-book versions of a title can now follow synchronized, highlighted text as the narration plays. The app will automatically show users which e-books have audiobook matches, making it easy to find eligible titles.

Audible says combining reading and listening can improve focus and comprehension. The company's data shows users who do both consume nearly twice as much content each month compared to those who stick to one format.

The feature is now available in the Audible app.
