Palm Springs Police experiencing phone disruptions as 911 calls temporarily routed to Cathedral City

The Palm Springs Police Department is dealing with intermittent phone connectivity issues due to weather-related service disruptions, according to a department advisory.

Officials say the Dispatch Center is currently experiencing interruptions that may affect incoming calls. To ensure emergency services continue without interruption, all 911 calls are being temporarily routed to the Cathedral City Police Department.

Authorities say the transition is designed to maintain rapid response for life-threatening emergencies while local systems are restored.

Non-emergency lines, including 760-327-1441, remain operational. However, callers may experience delays or missed connections due to intermittent reception. Police are asking the public to be patient and try calling again if they are unable to get through.

Personnel are actively working to restore full phone service as quickly as possible.

Officials stress that anyone experiencing a life-threatening emergency should continue dialing 911. For non-emergencies, residents are encouraged to remain patient while repairs are underway.

Updates will be provided as service is fully restored.
