Pluto Gets Its Day and Wine Gets a Toast: Can You Beat Jerry's Battery-Themed Brain Teaser?

February 18th brought a cosmic lineup of celebrations, starting with Ash Wednesday and Pluto Day—commemorating the 1930 discovery of our solar system's most controversial celestial body. Poor Pluto got the planetary boot in 2006 for failing to clear its orbital path, but it still gets its own day.

The calendar also served up National Drink Wine Day (because apparently one day is enough?), National Thumb Appreciation Day, and National Battery Day, honoring Alessandro Volta's 1745 birthday—the inventor who sparked the electric battery revolution in 1800.

Jerry used "battery" as the keyword to power two tricky trivia questions. Think you know your heavy metal classics and American landmarks better than the NBC Palm Springs crew? They stumbled through both questions, second-guessing their first instincts.

Test your knowledge by watching the video:

1) The 1982 heavy metal track "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" was performed by:

  • A) AC/DC

  • B) Black Sabbath

  • C) Coven

2) The Battery is a 25-acre public park bounded by Battery Place, Bowling Green, and State Street, named for 17th-century artillery batteries. In which city would you find it?

  • A) Chicago

  • B) New York

  • C) San Francisco

Watch the video to see if you're more charged up than Jerry and the team—and get the correct answers!
