An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, February 19, 2026!

Clouds over the Coachella Valley will thicken throughout the day as another disturbance approaches Southern California.

Rain will move into the Inland Empire later this morning followed by a few light, widely scattered showers over the Valley this afternoon and evening.

Because this system will also provide additional snow to area mountains above 5000-feet, that Winter Storm Warning has been extended through Friday morning.

This frontal boundary will also trigger another round of gusty on-shore winds for a large area of SoCal. The Wind Advisory for the Coachella Valley has been extended through Friday morning. You can expect the strongest winds to occur during this afternoon and evening.

Add to that, an Air Quality Alert has been posted today because of windblown dust.

Valley high temps will remain below-normal this afternoon with peak temperatures in the middle-60s.

We'll see mostly sunny skies Friday, but still cool. You can expect mostly sunny conditions Saturday with highs around 70°. 80s arrive beginning Monday.
