Cathedral City Boys & Girls Club Unveils New Panda Cares Center of Hope Teen Space

A new chapter for local youth began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Cathedral City Boys & Girls Club, celebrating the opening of its newly renovated Panda Cares Center of Hope teen space.

The upgraded area is designed to support middle and high school students with academic resources, learning tools, and a safe place to gather, study, and grow. The refreshed space includes new equipment, books, and updated technology to help teens succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

NBC Palm Springs reporter Brett Rosen was at the event, where community members and students gathered to celebrate the improvements and enjoy food provided by Panda Express.

The renovation was made possible through a $45,000 grant from Panda Cares, funded by everyday donations from Panda Express guests. According to Jasmine Smiley with Panda Express, the goal is to provide educational tools and create a supportive environment that helps young people continue their development beyond school hours.

Smiley says investing in teens is critical to building future leaders, emphasizing the importance of programs that strengthen life skills and confidence. She also shared that her own family has benefited from Boys & Girls Club programs, making the opportunity to give back especially meaningful.

The new Center of Hope will serve as a hub for learning, mentorship, and connection — giving Cathedral City youth a space designed to help them thrive.
