Palm Springs Fix-It Fair Offers Free Household Repairs This Saturday
Palm Springs residents will have the opportunity to repair broken household items for free at an upcoming Fix-It Fair focused on sustainability and reuse.
The City of Palm Springs Sustainability Department, in partnership with Repeat Reuse, is hosting the event this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mizell Center.
Volunteer repair experts will be on hand to help fix a variety of items, including bicycles, small appliances, clothing, toys, lamps, and tools. Organizers say the goal is to reduce waste while helping residents extend the life of everyday household items.
There is a limit of one item per household. In addition to repairs, Ace Hardware will provide onsite battery replacements for key fobs and remote controls, along with free knife-sharpening coupons.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required through Eventbrite.
The Fix-It Fair is part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainability, reduce landfill waste, and encourage residents to repair rather than replace.
