Stocks slide Thursday as Dow drops more than 260 points at closing bell

Stocks finished Thursday in the red, with all three major indexes closing lower on Wall Street.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 267.50 points, ending the day at 49,395.16 — a decline of 0.54 percent. The S&P 500 also slipped, dropping 19.42 points to close at 6,861.89, down 0.28 percent.
The Nasdaq Composite followed the same trend, losing 70.91 points to finish at 22,682.73, a decrease of 0.31 percent.
The across-the-board declines reflect a day of negative momentum in the markets, as investors pulled back and major indexes gave up ground by the closing bell.
Market watchers continue to monitor economic signals, corporate performance, and broader financial trends that could influence trading in the days ahead.
