Lisa Middleton Honored at 32nd Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards in Palm Springs

More than 1,000 supporters gathered at the Palm Springs Convention Center for the 32nd annual Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, a major fundraising event supporting DAP Health and its mission to expand access to healthcare across the Coachella Valley.

This year’s theme, “More Than a Gala — A Movement,” reflected the event’s focus on compassion, community, and action.

One of the night’s biggest honors went to Lisa Middleton, former Mayor of Palm Springs, who received the Community Service Award. Middleton was recognized for her leadership and long-standing commitment to promoting dignity, opportunity, and respect for all members of the community.

Speaking with NBC Palm Springs’ Thalia Hayden, Middleton said she was grateful to be celebrated alongside a community that shares those same values. She emphasized the importance of ensuring every person is treated with dignity and that access to healthcare remains available to those who need it most.

DAP Health leaders say the organization provides care to tens of thousands of local residents, many of whom might otherwise struggle to access essential health services.

Organizers say the evening was both a celebration and a reminder of the power of empathy — bringing together community members who are committed to strengthening healthcare access and supporting one another across the Valley.
