Peter Attia Resigns from CBS News Contributor Role Following Epstein Document Backlash

Celebrity physician and longevity expert Peter Attia has resigned from his newly announced contributor role at CBS News following public backlash tied to newly released Epstein-related documents.

According to a statement from Attia’s spokesperson, the contributor role had only recently been established and had not yet fully begun. The statement says he chose to step back to ensure his involvement would not distract from the network’s work.

The controversy follows the release of additional documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein, which included personal messages exchanged between Attia and the convicted sex offender. The disclosures prompted strong reaction from some of Attia’s followers and critics online.

Attia has said he was not involved in any criminal activity and stated he had never visited Epstein’s plane, private island, or attended any gatherings connected to him. He also said he never witnessed illegal behavior or saw anyone who appeared underage in Epstein’s presence.

The physician was among a group of new contributors announced earlier this year as part of a broader effort to expand CBS News’ lineup and audience strategy.

In addition to stepping away from the network role, Attia also resigned from his position as Chief Science Officer at David protein bars, according to the company’s leadership.

CBS News has not publicly commented on the resignation.
