Record-Breaking Girl Scout Pim Neill Honored with Official Day in Pittsburgh
A young Girl Scout who went viral for her record-breaking cookie sales now has a special honor in her hometown.
Six-year-old Pim Neill was recognized with her own official day in Pittsburgh after selling more than 117,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in her very first season. City leaders celebrated her achievement with a proclamation ceremony at the mayor’s office, officially declaring “Pim Neill Day.”
Neill’s success has drawn national attention, fueled in part by a social media campaign that helped her reach thousands of customers. At one point, she sold an astonishing 20,000 boxes in a single day.
Her original goal was to sell 10,000 boxes — a number she quickly surpassed. She then set her sights on 100,000, and now she’s aiming even higher, hoping to challenge the all-time Girl Scout sales record of about 180,000 boxes.
City officials say her enthusiasm and determination have inspired many people while also shining a spotlight on Pittsburgh.
Neill lives in the city, though her troop is based in the Baldwin-Whitehall area. During her visit to the mayor’s office, she even made a few more cookie sales — proving her passion for the job never takes a break.
Her remarkable achievement continues to motivate supporters as she pushes toward her next milestone.
