Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards Returns to Palm Springs Convention Center Celebrating Legacy of Giving

The 32nd annual Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards is underway at the Palm Springs Convention Center, bringing together hundreds of supporters for one of the Coachella Valley’s most anticipated charity events.

This year’s theme, “More Than a Gala — A Movement,” reflects the lasting impact of Steve Chase, a renowned philanthropist and interior designer who played a vital role in the early growth of DAP Health. Chase was one of the organization’s most dedicated donors, volunteers, and board members, and the annual event continues to honor his legacy of compassion and community care.

Reporting live from the orange carpet, NBC Palm Springs’ Thalia Hayden spoke with Steven Henke, Chief Marketing Officer at DAP Health, who says the event is a highlight of the year for staff, supporters, and donors alike.

Henke describes the evening as both glamorous and deeply meaningful — a celebration of generosity and a recommitment to expanding healthcare services for tens of thousands of residents across the Valley.

The event is known for its creative black-tie style, with guests embracing bold fashion alongside a spirit of celebration and giving. Inside, attendees gather for a cocktail reception, special VIP experiences, and live entertainment — including a performance by The Temptations.

A featured highlight is the Revivals Lounge, representing the popular thrift store that helps fund DAP Health programs serving nearly 80,000 community members.

Often simply called “The Chase,” the beloved tradition draws about 1,000 attendees each year, all coming together to support vital healthcare services and strengthen the Valley’s culture of philanthropy.
