Palm Springs Planning Commission Set to Approve Fertility Clinic Rebuild

The Palm Springs Planning Commission will meet tonight to approve plans for rebuilding the American Reproductive Center fertility clinic, nine months after a domestic terrorism attack destroyed the facility on May 17, 2025.

The commission meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to consider a development permit for the new medical building at 1199 North Indian Canyon Drive—the same location where the bombing occurred.

The proposed facility would span 19,347 square feet across two stories, according to city planning documents. The ground floor would house a 9,430-square-foot surgery center, while the second floor would contain a 9,883-square-foot OB/GYN and fertility clinic.

Since the bombing, the clinic has operated out of Desert Regional Medical Center across the street. The original buildings were removed as part of the FBI investigation, and is currently vacant and rough graded.

The new building would sit 30 feet tall with 109 parking spaces accessed from North Indian Canyon Drive. The site would be secured by a seven-foot wall and fence surrounding the complex, with a guardhouse at the main entrance—a security measure the city says is important for the facility's operation.

The city's planning staff is recommending the commission approve the project. If approved tonight, the application would still need to go before the Architectural Review Committee for final architectural and landscape approval. The timeline for that remains unclear at this time.
