Amazon Opens Massive Desert Hot Springs Facility

Amazon is celebrating the official opening of its newest Desert Hot Springs facility on Wednesday, a 635,000-square-foot warehouse that the company says will create more than 2,000 local jobs.

The invite-only ribbon cutting is set for 9:45 AM on Wednesday morning at the facility on 19th Avenue. Desert Hot Springs city officials are expected to be in attendance.

The facility, called an Inbound Cross Dock, will receive and consolidate inventory before sending bulk shipments to fulfillment centers around the region. Amazon says the operation will optimize inventory placement and strengthen the efficiency of its supply chain.
