Cathedral City Launching Citywide Traffic Signal Upgrade

Cathedral City is alerting commuters and residents about a citywide traffic signal upgrade project set to begin March 2.

Crews will install LED safety lighting, signal backplates, and retroreflective borders at 49 intersections across the city. The project will begin at Vista Chino and Date Palm Drive before moving south along Date Palm Drive.

Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Officials say the upgrades are designed to improve visibility and enhance safety for drivers and pedestrians. The project is expected to be completed by the summer.
