Palm Springs Unified to Host Annual Teacher Job Fair

Palm Springs Unified School District will hold its annual teacher

recruitment fair Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at their District Service Center and

organizers say job offers could come the same day.

The fair is the district's only teacher recruitment event of the year, and administrators say they

plan to extend on-the-spot contracts to strong candidates.

"We will even be offering contracts here on the spot for individuals that have a really successful

day," said Brad Sauer, PSUSD's Executive Director of Human Resources.

Colleen Gaughan knows that experience well. The New Jersey native traveled nearly 3,000

miles to attend last year's fair and left with a contract in hand. She had a one-way ticket booked

for the day after she finished out her school year on the East Coast. She's now a special

education teacher at Rancho Mirage High School.

"Obviously, I was ecstatic — I get to move to Palm Springs and I have a job," Gaughan said.

She credits the district's welcoming atmosphere for making her feel at home from the start.

"They were all there on a Saturday to help me and were friendly. I was just like, thank you for

being here."

To attract qualified candidates, PSUSD is offering financial incentives: $12,000 for special

education teachers, speech-language pathologists and nurses, and $9,000 for science and

math positions.

"We want people that love kids," Sauer said. "That's our biggest thing, to be here for our

scholars."

Applicants need to come prepared. The district asks attendees to bring a resume, three current

letters of recommendation and a letter of introduction and to be ready to interview on the spot.

Gaughan's advice to anyone heading to the fair: "Come in as yourself. This district really loves

the uniqueness everybody brings to the table."

How to Participate in the 2026-2027 Teacher Recruitment Fair:

Step 1: Submit your employment application. All candidates must have an active employment

application on file with the district before attending.

Step 2: Register for the event. After submitting your application, complete the fair registration

form to secure your spot and receive event-day instructions.

Note: Registration is not complete until both forms are submitted. Fully registered candidates

will receive participation details by email during the week of the event.
