Salton City Man Accused of Killing Hemet Teen Returns to Court for Preliminary Hearing

The man accused of killing 17-year-old Hemet teen T'Neya Tovar is expected back in Imperial County Superior Court Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing that will move his case forward.

Abraham Feinbloom, 51, faces one count of murder with a firearms enhancement and has pleaded not guilty. The Salton City man was supposed to have his preliminary hearing on Monday, but the judge granted a continuance after his attorney failed to appear.

He will now be represented by criminal defense attorney Melanie Roe, who previously defended Feinbloom in a 2019 child kidnapping case, though those charges were later dropped.

T'Neya was reported missing on December 1st. Authorities confirmed on February 11th that some of the teen's remains were found less than a mile from Feinbloom's home in Salton City. He was arrested two days later outside his home after investigators say he tried to evade law enforcement.

If convicted on all charges, Feinbloom could face 50 years to life in prison.
