Benefit Mixer Supports Desert Best Friend's Closet
A lively benefit mixer is underway tonight at the Cambria Gallery in support of Desert Best Friends Closet.
The nonprofit provides job-seeking skills training, job development, job placement support, and interview clothing to individuals facing barriers to employment. Executive Director Matthew Campos says the organization works to ensure clients are prepared to re-enter the workforce with the skills, resumes, interview preparation, and professional attire they need to succeed.
Attendees are enjoying wine and food, with 100 percent of the evening’s proceeds benefiting the organization. Community supporter Craig Michaels organized the mixer, with Cambria opening its showroom space for the event.
Executive Director Matthew Campos of Desert Best Friend's Closet says community members can help by donating gently used professional clothing or making monetary contributions to support training programs and operational costs.
The event highlights the Valley’s continued commitment to supporting local nonprofits and workforce development initiatives.
