Community Invited to Paint Party in Downtown Cathedral City

If you're searching for a colorful way to spend your Saturday morning, LGBT Days is inviting the community to roll up their sleeves and help “Refresh the Rainbow.”

The paint party kicks off at 9 a.m. this Saturday in downtown Cathedral City, where volunteers will help repaint the city’s rainbow crossing in preparation for the upcoming LGBT Days celebration.

City officials say all painting materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes and shoes they don’t mind getting dirty, and to bring something to support their knees while working on the pavement.

The effort helps keep the rainbow crossing bright and vibrant ahead of LGBT Plus Days, which runs March 6 through March 8. The annual event celebrates community, inclusion, and pride, drawing residents and visitors together for a weekend of festivities.

Organizers say everyone is welcome to join in the creative fun and show their support while adding a fresh coat of color to one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
