North Gene Autry Trail Reopens, But Indian Canyon Drive Remains Closed

North Gene Autry Trail reopened this morning around 7 a.m. after blowing sand forced the city to shut it down Wednesday evening.

The closure went into effect at 5 p.m. Wednesday and ran from East Via Escuela to Salvia Road at the wash.

North Indian Canyon Drive at the wash remains closed, though. That road shut down on Monday due to flooding and has stayed blocked since then.

Officials are encouraging drivers to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
