Two Days Remaining for County Residents to Chime in on Spending Priorities

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Residents have two days remaining to express their
opinions via an online survey regarding how Riverside County government should
prioritize spending in the next fiscal year.
The 2026-27 Community Budget Priorities Survey, available in English
and Spanish, opened during the first week of January and will officially end on
Saturday. It's accessible via surveymonkey.com/r/rivconeeds.
Survey results will be incorporated into the budget drafting process
that starts in May and culminates in hearings the following month.
More than 24,000 residents submitted opinions on where the county
should allocate funding for 2025-26, completing online questionnaires that were
provided in the winter of 2025.
Respondents can provide specific or generic thoughts. In previous
years, public safety, strategies to solve homelessness and affordable health
care ranked among the highest concerns for residents.
Five budget workshops are planned countywide in April to further
stimulate public activism and ensure people's voices are heard before the
budget hearings begin. Scheduling and locations will be verified in the coming
weeks.
