An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, February 27, 2026!
Because of an upper-level high pressure center -- currently positioned directly over the Southwest -- the Coachella Valley will experience unseasonably very-warm weather into this weekend.
In fact, the Valley will come very close to reaching that century mark today, and again tomorrow afternoon. You can expect middle 90s under sunshine on Sunday. We'll see new record high temps over areas of SoCal each of those days. (See the images for my city-by-city temp forecasts.)
As a weakening trough of low pressure moves through Southern California on Monday -- we will not see any precipitation -- but winds will occasionally become a bit gusty while our midday temps back-off into the upper-80s.
In my long-range outlook, there is a chance an upper low will trigger a few scattered showers on Sunday, March 8th. This system could also pull our midday numbers down to the upper-70s. Because this forecast is over a week away, there will be changes. Stay tuned!
