Clinton to Give Deposition in Congressional Epstein Investigation Friday

Former President Bill Clinton will give a deposition before the House Oversight Committee Friday as part of its Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

The committee is compelling Clinton's testimony, though he's named in the Epstein files but not accused of any wrongdoing. The deposition sets a precedent—establishing that a former president can be compelled to give congressional testimony, apparently unrelated to the separation of powers.

President Donald Trump is also named in the Epstein files and not accused of wrongdoing. Clinton's deposition opens the door to Trump facing similar treatment down the line.

The move comes one day after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton faced House lawmakers Thursday in a closed-door deposition tied to the investigation. She denied having any knowledge of Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell's criminal activities.
