Two Killed, Three Injured in Palm Springs Shooting Early Saturday Feb 28 on North Indian Canyon Drive
Palm Springs police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened early Saturday, Feb. 28, leaving two people dead and three others injured.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to multiple 911 calls reporting a fight and gunfire in the 1900 block of North Indian Canyon Drive. When officers arrived, they found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Three additional people sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Preliminary information indicates a motorcycle club was hosting a private event at an industrial complex when an altercation broke out, leading to gunfire.
Detectives spent much of the day and evening processing the scene, collecting evidence and securing vehicles believed to be connected to the incident. Investigators are still working to determine exactly what led to the shooting and who was involved.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Palm Springs Police Department or submit anonymous tips by calling 760-341-STOP.
Because of the incident, the Palm Springs Police Department postponed its Behind the Badge Open House that had been scheduled for later that day. Police Chief Andy Mills said in a Facebook post that department resources were stretched due to the critical investigation. Organizers say a new date will be announced once it is confirmed.
