Taste of Tennis Brings Star Power and Culinary Delights to Indian Wells
A major serve of star power is lighting up the desert — both on and off the court — as Taste of Tennis kicks off at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas.
NBC Palm Springs weather anchor Pablo Alsina is live at the event, where cooler temperatures in the mid-80s are making for a perfect evening after record heat earlier this week. Along with world-class tennis talent in town, the spotlight is also on standout cuisine.
Chef Eric Stenberg, Culinary Director of Kestrel, is among the featured chefs at the event. He showcased a braised short rib served with patatas bravas and piquillo pepper sauce, along with a refreshing watermelon poke.
Stenberg says this time of year is especially exciting, marking a seasonal shift in menus. The dishes featured at Taste of Tennis offer a preview of what guests can expect on Kestrel’s upcoming menu.
He says collaboration is key to the restaurant’s success — working closely with Chef Blais, sourcing local produce, and partnering with trusted fishmongers. The goal, he says, is to highlight quality ingredients and create a meaningful connection between diners and the food systems behind each dish.
As tennis fans gather and players prepare for tournament play, Taste of Tennis once again blends world-class athletics with exceptional culinary experiences in the heart of Indian Wells.
