Coachella Valley Giving Day Raises Nearly $250,000 by Morning

Coachella Valley nonprofits are already seeing major support on CV Giving Day, with donors contributing nearly $250,000 by 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The 24-hour fundraising event brings together neighbors, businesses, and local organizations across all nine valley cities to support causes that strengthen the community.

Presented by California Bank & Trust alongside the Desert Community Foundation, CV Giving Day makes it easy for people to donate online to hundreds of participating nonprofits, from youth programs and food security to housing, education, and the arts. The website tracks donations in real time, showing donors which organizations are leading the fundraising effort.

"It's the one day the Coachella Valley shows up big for local good," organizers say on the CV Giving Day website.

The event isn't just about raising money through donations. Nonprofits also compete for over $100,000 in prize money donated by sponsors, including the RAP Foundation/NPO Centric and the Auen Foundation. These prize incentives range from $1,000 to $10,000 and go directly to participating organizations.

Among the groups receiving donations today are the Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley, Palm Springs Art Museum, Eisenhower Health Foundation, Martha's Village and Kitchen, Hidden Harvest, College of the Desert Foundation, MODERN MEN Coachella Valley Men's Chorus, Coachella Valley Repertory, Jewish Family Service of the Desert, and Braille Institute.

Nonprofits will receive the funds raised today within one to two months, organizers say.

The Desert Community Foundation launched CV Giving Day in 2023 with what organizers call "a bold idea: What if we gave together — all at once, all across the valley?" Since then, the event has raised more than $2 million for local causes.

Donors can make contributions and explore participating nonprofits at cvgivingday.org throughout the day.
