Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards Raises $2.15 Million for DAP Health

The Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards raised $2.15 million for DAP Health at this year's gala, the organization announced.
Around 1,000 people attended the event — known locally as "The Chase" — at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Feb. 21. The annual fundraiser has been one of the Coachella Valley's signature galas for more than three decades, bringing together community leaders and donors to support DAP Health's mission of expanding healthcare access across Southern California.
This year's event honored former Palm Springs Mayor Lisa Middleton for her years of community service and leadership. The Temptations provided the evening's entertainment.
DAP Health operates 23 fixed clinics and six mobile units serving more than 80,000 patients in communities stretching from the Coachella Valley to the San Diego coast. The organization was founded in 1984 as Desert AIDS Project and expanded significantly in 2023 after absorbing the Borrego Health system.
Next year's event is scheduled for Feb. 20, 2027.
