Vehicle Hits Cyclist on Highway 111 in Palm Springs, Leaving Cyclist in Critical Condition

A vehicle hit a bicyclist on Highway 111 at Tramway Road in Palm Springs on Wednesday morning, investigators say, causing nearby roadways to shut down for around 2 hours.

Palm Springs Police responded to the collision at 8:36 a.m.
The cyclist is in critical condition, and was transported to an area hospital. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Police in the area closed down the intersection to investigate, that closure has since lifted as of 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
