Federal Court Orders Trump Administration to Refund $130 Billion in Tariffs

A federal trade court in New York directed the Trump administration Wednesday to begin refunding more than $130 billion in tariffs collected from importers over the past several months.
The order follows a Supreme Court ruling two weeks ago that found the levies illegal. Since then, more than 2,000 companies have filed lawsuits seeking repayment — among them household names like Costco, FedEx, and Pandora Jewelry.
Experts warn the refund process will take time to build and roll out, though the court's order sets it in motion. The Trump administration is expected to appeal.
