Justice Department Releases FBI Interviews Linked to Trump Allegation in Epstein Files

The Justice Department has released three FBI interview summaries connected to sexual assault allegations involving Donald Trump that were previously missing from a large collection of documents tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

The interview records, known as FBI “302” reports, summarize what witnesses told federal agents during interviews. They were part of the broader archive of Epstein-related files that the department has been publishing online.

According to a review by CNN, dozens of witness interview summaries were initially missing from the public document release. Among those were three interviews tied to a woman who told investigators that Epstein repeatedly abused her beginning when she was about 13 years old and also accused Trump of sexual assault.

Trump has consistently denied wrongdoing related to Epstein.

The Justice Department has not explained why the interview summaries connected to Trump were not included in the earlier document release. Officials previously said they launched a review to determine whether some files were incorrectly categorized during the release process.

The department has also had to remove and republish certain documents from the Epstein archive after problems were discovered with redactions. In some cases, victims’ names or images were accidentally made public.

Officials say approximately one percent of the roughly three million documents in the archive have had issues with redactions or formatting that required corrections.

At the same time, a senior Justice Department official said there is currently no active investigation into individuals connected to Epstein. An earlier federal inquiry into Epstein’s ties to prominent figures did not result in new criminal charges.

Thousands of additional images and documents connected to the case are still being reviewed and reposted as officials continue working through the massive archive.
