Las Vegas Casino Comes Down in Early-Morning Implosion

Las Vegas got quite the show early Thursday morning when crews imploded the Eastside Cannery Hotel and Casino just after 2 a.m. The property sits on Boulder Highway, several miles from the Strip.

Owner Boyd Gaming closed the Eastside Cannery during the pandemic in 2020, and it never reopened. The company says it plans to redevelop the land, though specific plans haven't been released. Housing could be part of what comes next.
