U.S. – Iran War Enters Sixth Day as Evacuations Begin and Gas Prices Rise

The conflict between the United States and Iran is entering its sixth day, with continued military strikes and growing global concerns.

U.S. forces continue to bombard targets inside Iran, with President Donald Trump saying the United States is performing well on the battlefield.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi pushed back against those claims during an interview with NBC News, saying the U.S. has not achieved its objectives in the conflict.

Araghchi suggested the U.S. may have sought rapid victory or regime change but said Iran’s government and military structure remain intact.

He also warned that a U.S. ground invasion would be disastrous.

Meanwhile, the conflict is spreading across the region. Iran has targeted American military bases in at least 15 countries, prompting several nations to shut down their airspace. Airlines are now avoiding large portions of the Middle East, leaving thousands of Americans stranded.

The U.S. State Department says it has started charter flights to help evacuate Americans from the region. Officials say more than 20,000 Americans have already returned to the United States since the conflict began, including nearly 10,000 who received direct assistance from a 24-hour government task force.

However, many Americans are still waiting for evacuation options. Some say they have registered with the government’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program and submitted emergency forms but are still awaiting flights.

The conflict is also beginning to affect global energy markets. Iran has threatened to burn ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for oil shipments.

AAA reports the national average price of gasoline has climbed to $3.25 per gallon, rising five cents in one day and 27 cents in the past week.

Analysts warn prices could continue climbing as the conflict disrupts oil supplies.
