Venus Williams Returns to BNP Paribas Open with Wild Card Match at Indian Wells

First-round play at the BNP Paribas Open continues at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden with a full slate of men’s and women’s matches taking place throughout the day.

One of the biggest storylines of the tournament is the return of tennis legend Venus Williams, who is competing with a wild card entry.

Williams is set to face 23-year-old French qualifier Diane Parry in their first-ever matchup. The match is scheduled to take place on Stadium Court no earlier than 1 p.m.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion has a long history at the BNP Paribas Open and remains one of the sport’s most recognizable figures. Throughout her career, Williams has reached the Indian Wells final three times, making deep runs at the prestigious tournament.
