An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Saturday, March 7, 2026!

You can expect on-and-off, strong Santa Ana winds on Saturday and Sunday. A Wind Advisory has been posted for areas around the Coachella Valley for this weekend.

This includes Western Riverside County, Western Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, area mountains through Sunday (Northeast 20-30 mph/gusts to 55 mph)... and Eastern Riverside County, High Desert through Saturday noon (North 20-30 mph/gusts to 45 mph).

And because of windblown dust, an Air Quality Alert has been posted this weekend for a large area of Southern California which includes the Coachella Valley.

Valley high temperatures will fluctuate from the upper-70s this afternoon with mostly sunny skies and very dry air, to the middle-80s on Sunday under clear conditions.

As a closed-low spins over Southern Arizona on Monday, we'll see a mix of Sun and clouds here in the Valley along with a few light mountain showers and midday temps in the upper-70s/lower-80s.
