Garage Fire Damages Home in La Quinta

Firefighters responded to a residential fire in La Quinta this afternoon that caused damage to a garage but was quickly brought under control. According to CAL FIRE, the fire was reported around 1:15 p.m. on Legends Way.

When crews arrived on scene, they observed light smoke coming from the garage area of the home. Firefighters moved quickly to contain the flames and were able to extinguish the fire in roughly 15 minutes, preventing it from spreading further into the residence.

Officials say one golf cart stored inside the garage was destroyed during the blaze. Despite the damage, no injuries were reported among residents or responding personnel.

Investigators are now working to determine what sparked the fire. Authorities have not yet released additional details but say the cause remains under investigation.
