$300K Raised to Restore LAUSD Classrooms After 2025 Wildfires
More than $300,000 has been raised to help restore classrooms at schools within the Los Angeles Unified School District that were impacted by last year’s devastating wildfires, according to county officials.
The LAUSD Education Foundation says the funding will support more than 275 classroom projects across a dozen campuses affected by the January 2025 wildfires.
Working alongside corporate donors, the funds will help replace furniture, seating, and other essential classroom supplies that were lost or damaged.
Organizers say donations from the SoCal Fire Fund, Amazon, and Disney Consumer Products helped make the restoration effort possible.
The fires caused widespread destruction, ultimately destroying around 3,000 structures and claiming the lives of 12 people. Officials say the classroom restoration effort is an important step in helping affected students and teachers rebuild and return to learning.
