Heather James Fine Art Celebrates 30 Years with “La Belle Époque to the Gilded Age” Exhibit

Heather James Fine Art, the renowned gallery located off El Paseo and Portola, is celebrating three decades in the art world with a captivating new exhibition, La Belle Époque to the Gilded Age. The show highlights the elegance and charm of Paris’ Golden Age, featuring masterpieces by iconic European Impressionists like Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, as well as celebrated American painters such as Winslow Homer.

“Sometimes when we think of the European Impressionists, it feels a little distant from our lives today,” said a gallery representative. “But in reality, it was the industrial towns in America that were buying up these collections and forming the museums that started on the East Coast, then moved into the Midwest, and eventually reached the West Coast. These paintings from the 1800s aren’t just art history—they tell the story of the movement of arts and culture across continents.”

The exhibit runs through May 31 and offers visitors a chance to experience the opulence of Paris’ Golden Age while exploring the connections between European art and American cultural development. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing ample opportunity for art lovers to immerse themselves in this historic collection.
