La Quinta Hosting Emergency Preparedness Fair April 9

Residents in La Quinta will have an opportunity to learn how to better prepare for emergencies at an upcoming community event.

The city is hosting an Emergency Preparedness Fair on April 9 at the La Quinta Civic Center from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will feature local safety experts sharing tips on how families can better protect their homes, loved ones, and pets during emergencies.

Attendees will also be able to experience an interactive fire safety trailer presented by CAL FIRE, offering hands-on education about fire prevention and response.

Officials say the first 100 people to attend will receive a free emergency backpack starter kit while supplies last.

Organizers encourage residents to attend, gather safety resources, and take simple steps toward being more prepared for potential emergencies in the community.
