Man Arrested After Driving Van Into White House Security Barrier

A man is in police custody after allegedly driving his van into a security barrier outside the White House just before 6:30 Wednesday morning.

Secret Service officers from the Uniformed Division arrested him immediately at the scene. His identity has not been released, though investigators say he was interviewed following the crash and that criminal charges are pending.

A police bomb squad was called to check the vehicle and determined it to be safe.
