Barbie Exhibit Celebrates Women’s History Month in Palm Desert
In celebration of Women's History Month and the birthday of Barbie, a local studio in Palm Desert is hosting a special event highlighting the cultural legacy of the iconic doll.
The one-day event, called “Barbie’s World,” will take place at a studio on El Paseo and will feature a rare collection of Barbie dolls along with a discussion led by women who helped shape the brand during their careers at Mattel.
Local business owner Alex Sabbag says the exhibit is meant to celebrate Barbie’s impact across generations, showcasing how the doll inspired creativity, fashion, and imagination for many children growing up.
Guests attending the event will also be able to see a curated fashion display from local designer Monica Mahoney, highlighting Barbie-inspired style.
Organizers say the event will feel like a mini museum dedicated to Barbie’s culture, history, and lasting influence. The event is scheduled for Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m., bringing together collectors, historians, and fans for a unique celebration of the world-famous doll.
